Md. Masum FCA, FFA, FIPA is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, accomplished taxation professional, and trusted business advisor with over 18 years of diversified professional experience in assurance, audit, taxation, VAT, corporate secretarial services, financial advisory, corporate governance, risk management, and strategic business consulting. Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2017, he has built a distinguished career by combining strong technical expertise with practical commercial insight to assist organizations in achieving regulatory compliance, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and long-term business growth.
He is the Founding Partner of Ahmed Masum & Co., Chartered Accountants, a dynamic and rapidly growing professional services firm established in 2023. In addition to leading the firm's strategic direction and client service excellence, he serves as the Quality Control Reviewer for all three branches of the firm. In this role, he oversees the firm's quality management system, engagement quality reviews, technical consultation, compliance with professional standards, risk management, practice development, talent development, and sustainable growth initiatives. His leadership continues to strengthen the firm's reputation for technical excellence, integrity, independence, and professional ethics.
Mr. Masum is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), a Fellow Member of the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA), United Kingdom, and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Australia. He also holds a Master of Business Studies (MBS) in Accounting.
He is a licensed Income Tax Practitioner and an accredited VAT Consultant authorized by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Chattogram Taxes Bar Association and currently serves as a Member of the Taxation Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), contributing to the advancement of taxation practices and the accounting profession in Bangladesh.
Before founding Ahmed Masum & Co., Mr. Masum served in senior finance and management positions in several reputed corporate groups and private organizations. During this period, he led finance, accounts, taxation, budgeting, commercial operations, corporate affairs, strategic planning, internal control, compliance, and financial management functions for both domestic and international business operations. His corporate exposure enables him to understand business challenges from a management perspective and provide practical, commercially viable, and value-driven solutions.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Masum has successfully delivered assurance, audit, taxation, VAT, corporate secretarial, advisory, and consulting services to more than 350 organizations across Bangladesh. His clients include multinational companies, public interest entities, large corporate groups, listed and non-listed companies, family-owned businesses, SMEs, NGOs, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, manufacturing enterprises, and start-up businesses.
He has extensive experience in managing and supervising complex professional engagements including statutory audits, internal audits, management audits, compliance audits, agreed-upon procedures, financial due diligence, operational reviews, internal control evaluations, corporate restructuring, business process improvement, accounting system development, ERP implementation, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, feasibility studies, asset valuation, investment analysis, and strategic business advisory.
Mr. Masum has also been actively involved in the advisory, compliance, financial reporting, and regulatory processes of more than 10 companies undergoing Initial Public Offering (IPO) listing processes, providing guidance on financial reporting, corporate governance, statutory compliance, and capital market requirements.
His practical experience extends beyond financial reporting into factory operations and business management. He possesses strong expertise in production planning, process loss analysis, inventory management, cost optimization, operational efficiency, commercial operations, supply chain coordination, budgeting, performance measurement, and organizational restructuring. This multidisciplinary experience enables him to assist businesses in improving productivity, strengthening governance, minimizing operational risks, and maximizing profitability.
